It would be a great way to end June, but of course, the question is whether these are legit or not. In terms of the Nintendo Direct, several known insiders have reiterated it. One random online user, notably though, predicted the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct hours before it was announced, including its length. They also reference another Direct for this coming week, June 27-July 1.

Many Sony fans may also be curious about the possible State of Play, and for those who are, they should keep an eye on June 27 or June 28, with the latter being more likely.
State of Play Predictions – June 30
The idea of a State of Play has been floating around for a couple of weeks now, perpetuated by the idea that God of War: Ragnarok’s release date would be announced at the end of this month. There were a few other rumblings that got disproved, like the potential Gran Turismo announcement not happening at a State of Play, but Bloomberg reported the release date would come at the end of the month. To associate that with a God of War-focused State of Play fits perfectly into Sony’s general approach to marketing.
Furthermore, the leaker who was right about Hollow Knight: Silksong coming to Game Pass also made a cryptic post, associating God of War: Ragnarok with June 30. That’s an easy guess though, as while many recent State of Plays have bucked Sony’s typical pattern, the majority of State of Plays last year all occurred on a Thursday, which would be June 30. But nonetheless, the leaker’s words have built up a ton of hype for God of War and June 30, hype that could be dangerous if it’s not legit.
Why June 28 is Important to the Next State of Play
If June 30 is the date of a God of War-focused State of Play, then fans should keep an eye on June 28. Nearly every State of Play is announced two days before, meaning those that took place on a Wednesday were usually announced on the Monday before and those happening on Thursdays were announced on Tuesdays.
Sony’s PlayStation pattern has gotten a little harder to predict, so truly it could be June 27 or June 28, but if the sun sets on June 28 without any announcement of a State of Play, the chances of it happening are severely diminished. It’s a small window of two days, but it’s super important in managing expectations. If the rumors and reports about God of War appearing somewhere this month are legit, then June 28 would be the proving point. If they are not, then the day will end with no fanfare and there would be no reason to expect anything more.
It’s also possible that the God of War: Ragnarok release date is randomly revealed in a PlayStation Blog or something instead of a State of Play—it could be as simple as that. In that case, it’s harder to predict, but a State of Play is much more likely than that. To leverage Sony’s successful platform for one of its most successful IPs is a no-brainer, and if it is happening on June 30, fans will know by the end of June 28.
God of War: Ragnarok is in development for PS4 and PS5.
